CoJ implemented a Community Consultation for the Burns Beach Coastal Node Concept Plan in May 2021 (see attachment below). This plan includes an artist's impression and the location of the proposed restaurant.

BBRA is generally supportive of this plan and looks forward to receiving details of the Community Consultation outcomes from CoJ...

PEET and/or the proponent of a proposed childcare facility submitted an application to CoJ for planning approval. CoJ undertook a Community Consultation process in June/July 2021.

At the CoJ Council Meeting on 17th August 2021, the application was refused as it did not meet the development standards of the Child Care Premises Local Planning Policy and Burns Beach Structure Plan...

PEET has submitted an application to CoJ for the operating hours of the Cafe to be extended in order to facilitate dinner service and to make the proposed Cafe commercially viable.

The operation hours would be changed from "06:00hrs to 20:00hrs" to "06:00hrs to 22:00hrs".

 

At CoJ Council Meeting, on 17th August 2021, this application was approved.

The property was sold on 5th November 2021 and the new owners now have 24 months to build the cafe as per the approved plans...

In late-2017 WA Planning Commission (WAPC) completed the installation of a Portuguese Millipede barrier on the boundary between Burleigh Drive and the bushland reserve.

PEET has advised BBRA that WAPC will extend the barrier to cover the Northern Residential Precinct in due course, once the construction works on the northern boundary are completed...

Although the verge does not belong to the property owner (verges are owned by the Crown and managed by the City), it is the householders/ property owner's responsibility to maintain the verge and ensure that footpaths, roadways and sightlines always remain free from obstructions to allow pedestrian access along the verge area, in preference to walking on the roadway, regardless of whether a footpath has been constructed or not...

In response to queries from the local community, BBRA has sought clarification from City of Joondalup and PEET regarding the Protective Covenants that are included by PEET with land sales contracts for the Burns Beach Development. BBRA has sought to establish clarity regarding non-compliance and enforcement of these Protective Covenants...

In December 2020 PEET announced that subdivision approval has been received from WAPC, and BBRA therefore understands that the Western Boundary of the PEET Burns Beach development is now clearly defined. This should enable confirmation of beach access locations to be finalised in the near future...

It is understood that the Master Plan complements (but does not replace) the Burns Beach Structure Plan. It is an integrated Burns Beach Master Plan, incorporating "original" Burns Beach and the Burns Beach Caravan Park areas...

In October 2021 titles were issued for Stage 15B enabling the 10 lots in this stage to commence settlement.

Stage 15A is anticipated to be completed in late January 2022 with handover to the City of Joondalup and titles expected to be issued in late February 2022.

The next development stage (southeast corner) is due to commence in March 2022 and will include an entry road and park...
